Training with Shawn 4-5x a week is hands down what keeps me mentally clear, organized, and energized in my busy life as a working mom. One of the best in the business! I have been working with Shawn for the past year and the results are tangible. He takes a holistic approach to both strength and mobility that is personally tailored to help you meet your goals, whatever they may be. I’ve been training with Shawn for over 6 years, and what I enjoy most about him is that he keeps our workouts dynamic. We work in programs, and each time we begin a new program I can tell that Shawn has put careful thought into the exercises to match them to my goals, while also introducing new concepts or building on old concepts. In Oct of 2017, I started working out with Shawn with the goal of losing weight to fit into a size 0. With Shawn's guidance and support, I quickly reached that goal. Although I had reached my goal, I continued to work with Shawn and throughout the months we worked together I did not only get a sweat in, I learned how my body operates and the importance of the exercises I did. Shawn also taught me the importance of these commonly neglected arts, stretching and mobility. While I learned the basics of fitness during our sessions, Shawn continued to educate himself on different exercises, rehab techniques, and nutrition. Shawn's thirst for knowledge is not something to be taken for granted. Every few months, he has a new exercise and a new program that challenges the body. I especially appreciate the exercises that look simple (ie. nordics) but are in fact deceivingly difficult. It is now 2024, and my goals are no longer to be skinny but rather to be strong. With Shawn's support, my body has never been stronger. Even during 2020-2021 (when gyms were closed due to COVID-19 Pandemic) , Shawn was training me virtually. Those virtual training sessions helped me stay positive and active during a difficult time. Having trained with Shawn for over 7 years, I can easily say, he is an honest, professional, and most importantly, a knowledgeable fitness coach. I've had the pleasure to befriend not only Shawn but several of the clients he trains. Even though his clients have different goals and body types, he is able to understand how best to help each one reach their fitness goals. Shawns' also always improving and challenging himself physically and intellectually, most recently by training in Jiu Jitsu and getting new health certifications. It is both inspirational and motivating for me to continue to be trained by someone like Shawn. Having Shawn as your personal trainer is to be guided by someone who truly cares about people and their overall health.

My name is Mauricio and I’ve been training with Shawn for a little over 8 years. I reached out to Shawn in particular as I worked out at the same gym location where he trained, and I could see great results on the people he was training. I’ve now experienced first-hand those same results myself. Shawn first helped me with building-up my core, which ultimately helped ease the chronic lower back pain that I suffered from. I used to go to a chiropractor once a month and I haven’t had the need to do so in over 6 years. Shawn and I have also been working on increasing my cardio resistance along with toning/building muscle in core, legs and arms. I really like working out with Shawn as he is focused, knowledgeable, thorough and dedicated. Shawn Derocher has many years of experience in the fitness industry and as a personal trainer. I started going to see Shawn in 2024 as a referral from one of his long-time clients; because I wanted to improve my weight training techniques and flexibility/mobility. Shawn’s attention to detail and form is one of the things I appreciate most about him. He is attentive and knows exactly how to correct something whether its form or execution. He is a great combination of supportive, motivating, and strict throughout the workout. I also truly appreciate Shawn's programs and how they are tailored for each client and their needs. With Shawn's guidance I was able to get my strength, confidence, flexibility and mobility to a point where I can successfully and safely perform barbell squats whereas, for the past few years I was either performing them incorrectly or not actually targeting the correct muscle group. Despite his busy schedule, he still finds time to personally message his clients to let them know how they did after each workout and what could help them, like specifically recommending massaging a particular muscle. Shawn makes use of every and any piece of equipment to successfully train his clients. While my time with Shawn has been relatively short compared to most of his clients (2 years +), I will definitely continue going to Shawn for training to further my goals in the gym. 10/10, I can’t recommend Shawn enough to anyone who is looking to start or continue their fitness journey!
